I don't believe the city of Los Angeles is ready to elect a basketball player as mayor, albeit formerly a great one.
And Magic being in a better position to lobby for his theaters is not nearly as serious a threat as the current ownership intending to build a mixed-use apartment complex.
Very good news, however, if the school district has chosen another place to put their school, which would hopefully remove that threat.
