Unfortunately, the LAUSD has some momentum and seemingly unbreakable politics behind it that will be difficult, if not impossible, to stop. Doesn't mean we can't try our best, but realize we're unlikely to succeed.

To me, there is an obvious absurdity on so many levels to putting a school at that location, regardless of the hotel, not to mention the issue of oversized schools.

If it were to come down to it, I would rather see the hotel stand than demolished. If that means it being offices or classrooms, with great disappointment in the City of Los Angeles, so be it. While, it certainly is not my preference, it is better than having the hotel disappear altogether.

Ideally of course, it would be restored to the irreplaceable hotel and property we all know it to be. Short of finding a benefactor with some vision and political clout, the LAUSD sadly has the hotel in their clutches.
