That's funny- I was at the same meeting, and Ms. von Rechon did no such thing. She said that the conservency was conspiring to let the city build a mall on the grounds in front of, and a high school in back of the intact hotel. I distinctly remember the quote "Would you put a mini-mall on the White House lawn and call the White House saved?" And lo and behold, that is exactly what the conservancy did. And I remember that the woman fom the Art Deco society, who for most of the meeting sat there pulling faces, told the assembled group that we should let "the professionals" handle saving buildings and just contribute. I remember this because I told her that if I was contributing time and money for this effort, that I would like a little bit of input, and some accountability.

Ms. von Reichon was not verbally abusive to the condesension from Ken Bernstein or Mitzi March Mogul (despite Miss Mogul rolling her eyes so often that I feared for her eqilibrium). And as for her proof for her "wild accusations" about having retail on the Wilshire Blvd. side, you can visit the Conservency's home page.

For me, all the meeting left me with was that Ms. von Reichon was very concerned with the preservation of the Ambassador, and that the LA Conservency was concerned with getting my money.

And by the way, Ms. von Reichon had the guts to face her accusers with her name and a valid e-mail address. Perhaps you should do the same.
