It would be a total shame if the Ambassador Hotel were torn down. In my city the downtown area has been almost completely demolished. I followed the restoration of Grauman's Egyptian Theater, and it was wonderful - so why can't the Ambassador be restored? It has been the site of so much Hollywood history and it seems as though the film industry would want to preserve it. It also seems as though a lot of the funding could come from there as well as maybe Federal funding. I'd like to see it continue to be a hotel. Maybe a multi use educational/entertainment facility where one could go to learn about Hollywood history, theaters, shopping, hotel/spa - in short, it could thrive and prosper with the right enthusiasm and funding.
