It takes about 6 minutes and 34 cents! The Ambassador Hotel is obviously of interest to all who read this posting. So please take the time to write (snail mail style) and at least try to save this beloved historical landmark from destruction. I have attached my letter that I have sent to the conservancy in hopes that a letter writing campaign will prove helpful. If you know of anywhere else to send letters to please post and lets all get involved-not just talk here about it. (All though that can stir others interest as well) So obviously we all have computers we all can type and can afford a stamp so start now! Thanks!

Allow me to introduce myself, my name is _____ and I am a native of Los Angeles and current resident. I am writing in request to save the Ambassador Hotel at 3400 Wilshire Boulevard from destruction and to ask for its granting of landmark status. Los Angeles has a much maligned reputation for destroying its beloved and world famous landmarks that has unfortunately been earned but I have found in the recent past a renewed sense of spirit and appreciation for the rich history of my beloved home town. Although I was saddened to hear of Bullocks Wilshire's closing in 1993 (My first employer) I was delighted to see the reuse and the refurbishment of the building by Southwestern School of Law. Currently you do not even need to squint to see the renovations coming to fruition on Hollywood Boulevard. BRAVO to the Egyptian Theater and Pig & Whistle Restaurant as well as The El Capitan Theater. Downtown's revitalization and the long awaited reopening of the always loved Angel's Flight to name only a few of this cities architectural icon's, The Ambassador Hotel's place in the history of the United States as well as this cities cannot be denied and I find to destroy the building would be a tragedy. I implore you to see the building as the historic and cultural landmark that it is and restore and reopen it as its intended use if even perhaps in a reused state. The gardens and sprawling lawns of the grand Ambassador Hotel and beautiful building makes this unique stretch of beautiful Wilshire Boulevard what it is. The Architecture and decor of the building can never be duplicated so let us now save it and recognize it as the jewel that this city possesses and keep it for future generations to love it as much as it is loved now and was in the past. I invite you to forward this request to anyone you can to help in this request.
Best Regards and thanks,
