To the LAUSD: I just wanted to say that I totally appreciate the fact that you need a new school badly in the neighborhood of the Ambassador Hotel. However, as a lover of history and someone who realizes that there are many morons in America who have no qualms over tearing an important historic building down just because of corporate greed or the need to use the land in what they consider to be a better way, I am appalled that this has even crossed your minds. If you do this, then you will indeed be destroying an important artifact in American history. As a matter of fact, do you know why you see so many important historic places in Europe. BECAUSE THEY APPRECIATE THEIR HISTORY AND THEY PRESERVE IT. And they laugh at the fact that Americans are STUPID enough to tear there's down in the name of progress! Whoever allows a wrecking ball to be taken to the Ambassador Hotel should be horse whipped in full public view to say the least. Maybe more! That would definitely be an embarassment to the history of America and to the city of Los Angeles. Build your school somewhere else but don't tread on American History in the process. I agree with the guy who wrote that LAUSD reminds him of an old military service joke which he used to see on T-shirts: Travel to exciting faraway places, meet new and different people, and then kill them.
