There are all kinds of remnants left over from the Ambassador hotel's long history in old magazines, postcards, books, and photographs. One example I have is an 11 x 14 publicity photograph from 1927 of the actor Thomas Meighan posing in front of some flowers on the grounds of the hotel. This Paramount studio photograph shows some of the great landscaping put in by it's designer Myron Hunt and how well the grounds must have looked to it's visitors and guests in those days. You can see this photograph at my website which I have described in more detail. If some of the less-informed people took a closer look at it's history, maybe they would appreciate it a little more. What is ironic is the fact that the hotel was built to be the centerpiece of the area to attract people and is now "in the way" of progress.
