What might help is getting more people aware of this website, who could join the discussion. I thought about putting up a banner on the fence in front of the hotel, but besides costing about $1000 to have made, I think it would get pulled down within the day and they would probably complain about it. I haven't even bothered asking if they would grant permission, because I expect they don't want that kind of attention.

I think it was IBM that recently launched a sidewalk graffiti campaign to promote a new product- they came under fire when one of the "artists" used permanent ink instead of chalk. I don't think there is any rule against writing with chalk on a sidewalk (but don't quote me on that)- maybe that's a way to get the word out to people in the immediate area. Of course, flyers are always an option. But reaching a much bigger audience is needed.

And I don't know what happened to the Cocoanut Grove sign- good question.
