With the number of vacant office buildings along Wilshire Boulevard (especially the umm errrrr shall I say uglier ones?) why doesn't the school district look into using those for their schools? Instead of even considering defacing and demolishing our landmarks, I am a native of Los Angeles but lived in New York City and the inner city schools there are in buildings that are multi-storied and have little outdoors space-The Ambassador is in the inner city-like in New York City if you want your kids to romp and be free move to the suburbs-the inner city is not nor will it ever be the suburbs. If you live in the city of Los Angeles take them to a park, Griffith Park, Echo Park & Don't even get me started here in my wish for a cleaned up MacArthur Park or LaFayette Park! My point is I think the LAUSD needs to realize there is not a lot of vacant inner city land left and they need to re-think their school layouts and stop thinking acres of land are or will ever be available again for the large schools of the past.
