How many hotels in the world are there that have items being auctioned off every day online? I don't know, but I doubt very many, and the Ambassador is one of the few. Just sign on to eBay.com and do a search for Ambassador Hotel or Cocoanut Grove (or Coconut Grove- it's often misspelled and is supposed to have an "a").

I have bought myself Ambassador postcards, ashtrays, program cards, brochures, room keys, photos, matches, swizzle sticks, utensils and other things. I have seen lighting fixtures, paintings, and more being offered. What other hotel has these kinds of things for sale!?

I submit to you that a hotel having souvenirs spanning 80 years being sold on a daily basis must mean something to someone, and is not ready for the wrecking ball.
